September Handlettering Favorites

While I don’t believe that you need lots of new or fancy supplies to create beautiful handlettering, it can be fun to try new things! Here are a few recent favorites that I shared on Instagram.

ESV Interleaved Journaling Bible

I shared this Bible (that I have really special plans for!) and it was maybe the most requested link. I can see why… it is very high quality and has one of my favorite features for a journaling Bible - blank pages! In this version, there is a blank page after every page of text. So if you’re looking for something to take tons of notes on, or something where you can draw or paint the Scriptures without covering the text in your Bible, this is a great option!

I know this one is spendy so that may not be the perfect option for everyone. I do have a video where I break down several different journaling Bibles and their features, in case you’re looking for a journaling Bible that’s more affordable. You can watch that video by clicking here. Just a note: I know I didn’t get the best picture of this one, but it looks the same as the leather journaling Bible that I shared in the video. The big difference is that this one is thicker due to the extra interleaved pages. The one in the video does not include the blank pages after each page of text.

Pigma Micron Pens:

These pens are great for journaling and I love them for both my Bullet Journal and my Journaling Bible. I also like to use them when I’m going to be combining my writing with another medium, like watercolor or a highlighter, because they don’t streak. I tried a variety of sizes this time and I ended up really liking some of the larger sizes! You can see the swatches and sizes above.

Gold Calligraphy Ink:

This was one of my first purchases when I was a beginner trying out dip pen calligraphy for the first time. I have loved it so much over the years, but it was time for a repurchase. I love to use this one with a monoline nib as well!

Journal Stickers:

I shared a few pages in my Bullet Journal where I used botanical stickers to easily dress up the page. I actually purchased 3 packages of stickers, so I’ll share the links for them below. But they were super affordable and I’ve really been enjoying using them in my journaling, especially when I don’t have a lot of time to spend drawing! You can find the videos by clicking here & looking at the Instagram Story Highlight called “Simplified BUJO”.

Archer & Olive Green Journal:

I have used Archer & Olive journals for a few years now, but this is my first time trying a B5 size! I actually shared this journal in a haul that you can watch here. And in that video, I shared how I accidentally purchased the B5 size. Well, I’ve been using it for a while & I truly do love having the extra space. It’s not as easy to carry around & I’ve gotten a couple of scratches on it because of throwing it into my bag, but overall I am a huge fan!

Filming Sweaters:

Ok, so this last one isn’t really handlettering or art related at all. But I shared this quick IG story & had several DMs asking me for the link! I am 0% fashion blogger, I am completely aware of that fact. BUT, I do struggle to find a sweater with cute sleeves that aren’t loose. And that may not seem like a big deal, but when you film handlettering tutorials for a living & your hands are the only thing that people see, cute sleeves can be fun! When I found this sweater at Target, I knew I had to grab it in a few of my favorite brand colors! But there are lots of options if you’re not a pink fan.
