August Bullet Journal Spread

July 31, 2019 by How To Handletter Leave a Comment

I love starting fresh with my planners in the Fall. Something about back to school time just makes me want to begin a new journal! You’ll notice that this journal setup is pretty simple and minimalistic. I don’t tend to do pages just for the sake of doing them, I like having a purpose with my bullet journaling.

I decided to go for a summer and wildflowers theme that you’ll see throughout the video tutorial. This spread and theme is perfect for those of you who don’t like to doodle but still like having pretty pages as they are simple and easy to reproduce. Watch the video below to see my August Bullet Journal Setup!

I started with a basic setup of the journal as I was starting fresh and added just a few useful pages:

Year At A Glance

I use this page as a reference to keep track of what’s going on for the last few months of the year. I like to write out the calendar months and although it’s really tedious, I’m hoping to get a lot of use out of this page. Make sure to leave some space under your calendar blocks for important events and dates!

Quotes To Remember

I love to read and am usually highlighting what I’d like to remember for future lettering pieces and inspiration. However, I never go back into my books and look what I saved so I thought this would be a great way to store my favorite quotes!

Monthly Tracker

I don’t focus on stats and data all that much but I wanted to create a monthly tracker for my YouTube, Instagram and Email Growth.

Goals Page

I really loved how the flowers and the little extra bit of color turned out on this page. I don’t typically use a lot of color in my bullet journaling but this page is one of my favorites! I use some Tombow’s and Crayola Supertips for the colors in this journal page.

Content Ideas

I always seem to have more ideas than I have time, so this page is all about keeping track of my video ideas! I am also working on a free resource library where I can keep all the free downloads and printables for things like journaling, hand lettering, pen testing and scripture memory.

If you’re on my email list, you’ve been getting freebies like this but I wanted to have a place to keep all of my ideas.

Memories

I wanted a place to keep track of some of the highlights of my year. I left this page very basic because I’m still not sure if I wanted it to keep photos or to simply write down my memories.

For the monthly part of my journal, I decided to stick with the wildflower theme. Drawing and illustration is not one of my strengths so I did some research and just drew a couple of simple flower designs:

Cover Page

I wanted to add in a quote before the cover page for August to incorporate some hand lettering. I kept it all simple and minimalistic and incorporated my new favorite floral bouquets.

Calendar Page

I added in the days of the week with lots of space to fill in important dates and events. This is great to look back on in the future, too!

Fonts Page

I have a goal to test out and create a new font style every month for hand lettering so this page is all for that! I’ve just released a new worksheet set with my latest Eloise font – you can purchase the practice worksheets here for this beautiful, modern lettering font here.

Habit Tracker

I’ve always struggled to be consistent with my habit trackers so I decided to create a page with a small one to test it out again. I am focusing on exercise, reading before bed, drinking enough water and practicing hand lettering every single day. I hope sticking to just these four goals and having the habit tracker page will help keep me more accountable.

Business Tasks

This page helps me keep track of video ideas, blog post ideas and things to do for my Etsy shop for the month of August. This is more for the tasks that I need to get done rather than dumping my ideas.

Weekly Spread

I don’t like adding a ton of things here and decided to focus on the top three things that are most important for each day of the week. I’m definitely a to-do list maker and I always have a ton of ideas so this page helps me focus a little better. Instead of having a long list of tasks to accomplish every day, focusing on three feels less overwhelming!

That’s it for my August Bullet Journal Spread! If you’re interested in learning more about hand lettering for your bullet journaling I have a FREE 7 Day Mini Course that teaches you the basics with free printables to help you practice – you can join it here.
